Green Smoothie

I love juicing for breakfast but if you don’t have a juicer then you can still enjoy a nutritious smoothie to start the day the healthy way! Either use a nutri bullet or a good blender to make these. There are loads of variations on this, you can add whatever you like really. I always add linseed (flaxseed) as it’s a great source of omega 3s so keeps you skin moisturised and I always add at least 1 green vegetable to get 1 of my daily quota in first thing in the morning. Always add frozen fruit of some kind or ice, a cooler smoothie tastes better.

Ingredients (for 2 people)

1 banana

1 handful kale or spinach

1 apple cored or 1 pear cored

1 pint coconut water

1/4 pint water

2 tbsp. linseed

1 handful frozen mango

 

Method

  • Put it all in a blender and whizz it up
  • Pour in a glass and enjoy

Quick, easy and healthy breakfast with minimal effort…lovely! This is a great one before the gym as it’s not too heavy on the stomach. If you want to make it more filling to make it last till lunchtime add a spoonful of protein powder for each adult.

Please note : if you use kale in this you really need to use a good blender otherwise it’ll leave bits in the smoothie and it won’t be as nice.
