Hi, I’m Louise Blanchfield
Nutritionist and Physiotherapist.

I’m married to Richard and I’ve got 2 kids aged 17 and 14. I’m just an ordinary person with the usual pressures of daily life feeding a family of four, walking the dog, keeping the house tidy and trying to work!

I’ve been a physio for years but now offer nutritional therapy as well since doing my training. I’m a bit of a nutritional anorak after all I’ve been through, giving bits of advice to family and friends whenever I can. With my background as a scientist and former physiotherapist I’m obsessive about researching conditions and finding any evidence base there is to support dietary and lifestyle change.

Louise Blanchfield, nutritionist and physiotherapist at The Food Physio

I love my work now as a nutritionist, it never fails to amaze me just how incredible our bodies are when given the right food and the right environment in which to thrive. All of my consultations include teaching people what they need to know about how their bodies work and how to fuel it to get the best out of it.

I love seeing the realisation on people’s faces when they understand what was been contributing to their problems and how they have the power to change it!

The Food Physio’s Story

After reversing my husbands ulcerative colitis and inflammatory arthritis by changing our diets and lifestyle I was amazed at just what the human body can achieve given the right environment. And I’d helped him as a novice just by scouring the internet for information, reading journals and books to try and find the root cause of the inflammation. The transformation was so incredible that I wanted to help other people accomplish the same thing and although I still enjoyed doing physiotherapy, I must admit I fancied a change.

So, I did a 3 year course to get qualified so I could formally help other people. Now, my work is extremely varied and includes:

  • 1 to 1 consultations on nutrition and lifestyle change
  • Talks to local groups either generally on nutrition or on specific topics
  • Corporate talks and individual sessions – tailored to a businesses requirements
  • 1 to 1 for nutrition to aid recovery with complex rehabilitation cases from injury at work

If I can help you, or someone you know achieve their health goals then I would be happy to help. If you are interested in any of the above and would like more information, please feel free to email me at louise@thefoodphysio.com or call me on 07958 686 018.
